Gia Kereselidze
Artist, Film Director
Gia was born in the Republic of Georgia in a family that cherished and greatly contributed to the arts. In 1990, he graduated (M.F.A.) from The Academy of Arts. Tbilisi, Georgia.
Before moving to the United States, Gia apprenticed and worked side by side with the famous Georgian artists Mamia Malazonia, Koka Ignatov, Givi Mizandari,
Givi Kandareli and others. In addition, in 1991 his animated movie Brighter Than The Sun was presented at the MGM Animation Celebration Film festival in Orlando, Florida.
Throughout the past 18 years, Gia has created various pieces of art and
currently works as Senior Designer for USA TODAY. His new animated film Hope was specially selected in the 2007 Cannes "Short Corner" Film Festival. Gia's poster designs for Synetic Theater began in January 2008 with the show Romeo and Juliet. Anyone paying close attention may have noticed Gia's unique approach to his latest theater poster work, starting with the designs he created for the recent production of Carmen.
