Pizzeria Piola pays homage to one of the most beloved Italian artists in a very original fashion.
“Toto’ loved children” says Dante Carniato, one of the founding Partners of Pizzeria Piola. “October is Italian American Heritage Month, and we thought it would be nice to pay homage to one of the most beloved Italian artists of all times by engaging Piola.
Throughout the month of October, Piola NY will invite the Italian community of the New York Metro area to come to Piola, By presenting the invitation and ordering a pizza, 50% of the price of the pizza will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro New York.
“Toto’ was born in Naples’ “Sanita’” district in 1898. After a difficult childhood, thanks to his talents and perseverance, Toto’ became the actor that we all know. Notwithstanding his fame and celebrity status, he never forgot where he came from, and throughout his life Toto’ has always given to the poor and those who suffer, with special emphasis on children.
For this reason, during this important anniversary, we felt that there was no better way to pay homage to Antonio De Curtis, (Toto’s real name) than to organize a charitable event in his name.” Says Laura Caparrotti, the De Curtis Family representative in The United States. “We are very grateful to Piola for hosting and contributing to this event. Together with Piola we have selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro New York, because by granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, they enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, the same Joy that Toto’ has given us without end during his whole career.
