Nikki Terry, Artist-Painter
Nikki Terry has demonstrated the capacity to see and enter the act of painting with respect for her craft and the watchfulness of a mature artist. In her work, the material aspects of painting, combined with skill and refined brushworks evoke a mood or feeling that could possibly be undefined by some, yet other’s have the ability to see into the visions of the painter’s inner world.
“Without using words, The Incredible Dance of Being, are stories that have allowed me to mirror to you what goes on in my world. These paintings are translations of journeys I have traveled, yet, convey the freedom that I found in surrendering…found in dancing to the movement of life.”
Nikki Terry, self-taught artist, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the New School University and has studied at Pratt Institute in the Masters of Fine Arts Program. Her growing list of exhibitions include group and solo shows at the Lumi Art Gallery, Simon Liu Gallery (both in Brooklyn), the Brooklyn Borough Hall Community Gallery, and Pratt Institute. Nikki, a native of Baltimore, lives and works in Brooklyn.
