The cow
The cow is an animal that gives. And its generosity, its prodigal and serene nature, have supported and inspired humanity since the Creation. The cow has always been worshipped. In ancient Egypt, it was considered a prodigy. Hathor, a goddess who was considered to be the queen of both the firmament and fertility, was represented with a cow decorated with stars; she was the heaven cow goddess. Mighty Zeus turned his lover into a cow to protect her from the wrath of his wife, Hera. Cadmo founded the city of Thebes exactly where his cow lay down to rest. In India, cows symbolize everything that is alive, fecundity, and, according to this mythical conception, it is their four legs that support the “dharma” or moral world order. Cows provide us with milk, meat, leather; they give us food, shelter, warmth. They produce wealth. And they are tasty. As tasty as milk that has just been milked, as a short cake, as mozzarella melting on a pizza. The delicious cow arrives at this issue of Piola Magazine in a cheese coat, spreading not only her own wings but also other things. And it is accompanied by symbolic cows and sacred cows, sculpted cows and colored cows, cows kept on a leash and mad cows. From now on, bovine way. Including dessert. Bon appetit.
